Talk legal to me
Last Modified: March 2020
We’re so glad you’ll be joining us for INBOUND 2021. For complete details on the terms that apply to registration and other important stuff, please read through the below.
Once you complete the purchase of your registration, the purchase and rate is final and won’t be adjusted later. It is your responsibility to confirm that the price displayed at checkout is the price that you expect and agree to pay before you complete your purchase.
We may offer a promotional, coupon, discount, or similar code (let’s just call them “promotional codes”), for instance as part of a limited time sale. These codes are generally tied to a specific pass (for example, the Starter Pass) or to a group of passes and their value cannot be applied towards another pass or another group of passes, including if you upgrade to a different pass later. Promotional codes cannot be applied retroactively to a previously completed purchase.
If you are purchasing group tickets, we may register your attendees for you using the names and email addresses you provide. You are responsible for obtaining your attendees’ permission to share their personal information with INBOUND and for INBOUND, its vendors, HubSpot, and/or INBOUND event sponsors to use their information as described in the Privacy section below. You are also responsible for your attendees’ compliance with these terms and conditions. We may refuse entry or cancel registration for any attendee that does not comply.
Things happen. We understand. Here’s how cancellation and refunds work:
To cancel your registration (and get your refund, if applicable), you will need to notify us in writing at help@inbound.com.
If you’re entitled to a refund, the amount refunded will be based on the fees paid for the registration(s) you cancel and will be refunded to your original payment method – we don’t issue checks for refunds. These cancellation terms apply regardless of the reason that you cancel (even if you, unfortunately, need to cancel for personal reasons or other stuff that’s out of your control).
Please remember that canceling your registration does not automatically cancel your hotel and travel arrangements. You are responsible for canceling your own hotel and travel reservations.
You also have the option of transferring your pass to another person if your plans change (or if you just feel like it). Your pass can be transferred up until picked up onsite (for in-person attendees) or until you use it to activate your INBOUND account for online attendees. Online accounts cannot be shared. Once an in-person badge is printed it can only be used by the person whose name is on it.
You can transfer your own registration—or another that you purchased—by logging in to manage your registrations and find additional instructions here.
If you need assistance transferring a registration, you can contact us at help@inbound.com. We reserve the right, at our option, to charge a Service Fee of up to $50 for each registration that you request our assistance to transfer. In order to transfer a registration, you must be able to demonstrate to our satisfaction that you are the original registrant or purchaser, or that you are otherwise authorized to make changes to the registration.
Please remember that transferring your registration does not automatically transfer your hotel and travel arrangements. You are responsible for transferring your own hotel and travel reservations.
Your privacy is important to us, so please read our full privacy policy here, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
Registration data
We may share your registration data with our vendors in order to provide event information and help improve your experience at INBOUND 2021 or future HubSpot events. For example, if we offer a mobile app, we might make your data available to the mobile app provider so it’s accessible through the app. We may also share your registration data with providers related to INBOUND 2021, like HubSpot, our event platform and registration service providers, and other vendors who work with us to make sure INBOUND 2021 is a great experience for you. By providing your registration data to us, you grant us permission to do these things.
What we will not do is sell, rent, or give your registration data to third parties (because there’s nothing worse than going to an event then getting spammed by strangers for weeks). You have the option at registration to allow us to share your registration information (including your name and email) with INBOUND sponsors, and if you select this option, we’ll share your information with INBOUND sponsors so you can receive communications directly from them. You also may have the option of sharing your information (such as your avatar, name, company, and job title) directly with other attendees or sponsors through our event platform or other online communities. If you choose to share (or allow us to share) your information, you understand that we do not control how other attendees or sponsors use your information. The important point here is that you will have control over which information is shared with other attendees and/or sponsors, and you can choose whether or not to share your information. If you believe a sponsor or other attendee has collected your information without your consent, please inform us immediately.
Performance metrics
We may share performance metrics such as page views, clicks, and impressions with INBOUND 2021 sponsors or vendors to measure the performance of our INBOUND 2021 platform, content, and advertising that we provide through the platform. We will use this information in compliance with our privacy policy.
By registering for INBOUND 2021, you agree to follow our Code of Conduct, which you can find here. Our Code of Conduct outlines the behavior we expect from everyone at INBOUND. You should read the whole thing, but the summary is pretty simple: don’t be a jerk.
If we (in our sole discretion) determine that you are behaving in a manner that is—or could be—disruptive to the event or other attendees, violates our Code of Conduct, or is in violation of these terms, then we can limit your access or ban you from the event. If we do, you aren’t entitled to any form of refund or compensation. At our discretion, we may also ban you from future events for a definite or indefinite time period.
If you notify us of an individual who you believe is acting in a manner which violates our Code of Conduct or these terms, we will take your concern seriously, but any action that we may or may not take will be at our sole discretion.
Drones are not allowed at the event. Hoverboards, rollerblades, roller skates, skateboards or use of other forms of recreational transportation devices are also not allowed at the event. Of course, this section doesn’t restrict you from using any required assistive device (like, a wheelchair, walker, or motorized scooter) if needed due to a disability or injury. If you need any assistance getting around the event, please contact us at help@inbound.com, or ask an INBOUND representative on-site.
You’re invited—and indeed, encouraged—to meet and visit with all of the great companies who will be joining us as official sponsors and exhibitors at INBOUND 2021. But keep in mind that “suitcasing” or “outboarding” is strictly prohibited at INBOUND 2021.
The views or opinions expressed by any event attendee, speaker or sponsor are not necessarily our views or opinions. All event attendees, speakers, and sponsors are responsible for their own content (including presentations, marketing collateral, advertising and online Web content). You are not allowed to use any content that infringes another party’s intellectual property rights, is harassing, misleading, or unlawful.
We don’t want confusion about our event, so you agree that you won’t host any competing events during INBOUND 2021 and you won’t use the INBOUND name or the names of our sponsors (which includes HubSpot), without our written permission first.
If you attend INBOUND 2021 in person, you’ll need to wear your badge at all times when you’re at INBOUND 2021.
To pick up your badge, all registration fees must be paid in full and you’ll need to show a government-issued form of photo ID, like a driver’s license or passport. The name on your photo identification must match the name on your registration. If you’ve had a recent change in your name (like if you got married, for example) and your registration does not match your photo ID, please bring documentation of your name change and come see us at Registration Assistance when you pick up your badge.
Individuals must pick up their own badge. This means that you can’t have a coworker or friend pick up your badge for you (and you can’t pick up theirs for them.)
In order to pick up your badge, you may be required to take a photo which will be used to verify your identity throughout the event. These photos are part of our security at INBOUND and we reserve the right to deny entry to anyone who refuses to take an identifiable photo. If we do, you aren’t entitled to any form of refund or compensation.
Only you can use your badge, meaning you can’t share it, give it, or sell it to anyone else once it’s been printed. We reserve the right to revoke any badges that we determine are being used by someone other than the registrant whose name appears on it. If we revoke your badge, you aren’t entitled to any form of refund or compensation.
Treat your badge like cash or your child—whichever you’re less likely to misplace. If your badge is lost or stolen, you should notify us immediately by emailing help@inbound.com or letting a member of our onsite staff know. We will issue replacement badges on a case-by-case basis and at our sole discretion. We may charge a fee of up to $50 for each badge we replace.
Badges may use RFID technology. Your badge may be actively or passively scanned as you enter certain sessions or when you access other areas and amenities at INBOUND. Among other things, this helps us to track and provide information on capacity, as well as make sure folks have the right access.
Our sponsors may have the option to scan your badge to retrieve the personal information that you provided at registration, including your name, company, and email address. If your data is collected by a sponsor—by scanning your badge or through any other means—it will be used and stored according to their privacy and data retention policies, which they should allow you to review before providing your data. You are never required to allow a sponsor to scan your badge and if you’re not comfortable with any of their policies, you shouldn’t provide them with your data.
Attendees must be at least 18 years of age to attend INBOUND 2021 and all related events. If you’d like to request an exception to this, you’ll need to send your request in writing to help@inbound.com.
You have to be at least 21 years of age to drink alcohol, and you’ll show us a valid ID if we ask. Of course, all drinking should be done responsibly.
Unless we notify you otherwise, then you’re permitted to take screenshots, photos, videos, or audio recordings (collectively, “recordings”) of most sessions at INBOUND 2021, as long as you comply with these terms.
These recordings might include content or material that is protected by copyrights, trademarks, or other rights which we own or license. So, other than for your personal use, you are not allowed to copy, reproduce, publish, or distribute the recordings without our written permission.
Attendees are not permitted to take recordings using professional camera equipment, such as DSLR cameras, lights, or tripods. However using a camera phone or a smaller digital camera is fine. If you have INBOUND 2021 media credentials, you will be permitted to use professional equipment, provided it has been approved and tagged by a member of the INBOUND media team. You can request media credentials at www.INBOUND.com/media.
We allow – and even encourage you – to disseminate the recordings through social media (like tweeting, or posting to Facebook or Instagram), as long as the clips aren’t more than one minute in length and you are otherwise in compliance with these terms. Here are a couple of examples of what’s allowed: tweeting “#INBOUND2021 = the best time ever!” with a picture of you or your team attending the digital sessions, and posting a screenshot of Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah’s talk on Instagram. Here are a couple of examples of what’s not allowed: posting a live stream of a breakout session, and posting a picture on Facebook of one of our speakers after we announced that recordings aren’t allowed.
Now some important restrictions: you agree that you won’t use any recordings (1) in a way that is misleading or disparaging, (2) in a way that implies that the content of the recordings is your own, (3) for commercial purposes (this means, for example, you can’t sell them) or in a way that implies that we endorse, sponsor or approve of your business, services or products, or (4) in violation of applicable law (including but not limited to privacy laws) or in connection with an obscene, indecent, or unlawful topic or material. If we request that you discontinue use of any recordings, you will immediately comply with our request. And of course, if we do notify you that recordings aren’t allowed, then you agree that you won’t take any recordings.
Now about recordings we can take: by attending INBOUND 2021 and related events, you consent to having your image, voice, likeness, presentation and/or other copyrightable material recorded, including video, audio, and still photography. We reserve the right to use recordings taken at INBOUND 2021 and related events however we might choose to, without giving you notice or any compensation. We might use them, for example, in our press releases, marketing materials, or other publications.
By registering for INBOUND 2021, you understand and agree that you may be entered into sweepstakes or contests. There are separate terms and conditions that apply to each of these sweepstakes and contests, so even if you’re entered, you may or may not be eligible to win. If you don’t want to be entered into any sweepstakes or contests, you can opt-out by sending a request in writing to help@inbound.com.
We want everyone to be safe at INBOUND 2021 -- both in person and online -- and we’re guessing you do too. By attending INBOUND 2021 in person, you understand we might randomly check bags or other personal belongings, and you agree to not leave any of these unattended at any time. You also agree that you won’t bring anything to INBOUND 2021 that could cause a safety hazard.
All security concerns should be reported to INBOUND 2021 staff immediately by emailing conduct@inbound.com. Our security team may take whatever measures they deem appropriate without prior notice in order to aim to ensure the safety of attendees at INBOUND 2021. You must comply with the direction of our security team, as well as all applicable rules and regulations.
We might make updates to the agenda from time to time, which could include a change in speakers or the cancellation of certain sessions. We can’t promise the attendance of any speaker, entertainer, or presenter and won’t refund your registration or provide any other compensation based on changes to the agenda. We also can’t guarantee admission to any certain session, since all sessions are subject to capacity limits and availability, and we can’t guarantee the event will be free from Zoom bombing, phishing, or anything other kind of harmful attendee interaction.
INBOUND 2021 is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. If we are determined to have any liability to you, you agree our aggregate liability will be limited in all cases to one hundred dollars (US$100.)
Presentations at INBOUND 2021 may include certain “forward-looking statements" within the meaning of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995, including statements concerning our position to execute on our growth strategy in the mid-market, and our ability to expand our leadership position and market opportunity for our inbound platform. Although we believe that our plans, intentions, expectations, strategies and prospects as reflected in or suggested by those forward-looking statements are reasonable, we can give no assurance that the plans, intentions, expectations or strategies will be attained or achieved.
Furthermore, actual results may differ materially from those described in the forward-looking statements and will be affected by a variety of risks and factors that are beyond our control including, without limitation, our history of losses; our ability to retain existing customers and add new customers; the continued growth of the market for an inbound platform; our ability to differentiate our platform from competing products and technologies; our ability to manage our growth effectively to maintain our high level of service; our ability to maintain and expand relationships with our marketing agency partners; our ability to successfully recruit and retain highly-qualified personnel; the price volatility of our common stock; and other risks set forth under the caption "Risk Factors" in our most recent Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q (or the most recent Annual Report on Form 10-K, if it’s more recent than the latest Form 10-Q), and our other SEC filings. We assume no obligation to update any forward-looking statements contained in this document as a result of new information, future events or otherwise.
Please be aware that we may update and change any part or all of these Terms and Conditions at any time without notifying you first. If we update or change these Terms and Conditions, the updated Terms and Conditions will be posted at http://legal.hubspot.com/inbound-2021 (or other website we designate). The updated terms will become effective and binding on the next business day after they are posted. When we change these terms, the "Last Modified" date above will be updated to reflect the date of the most recent version. We encourage you to review these terms periodically. If you don’t agree to these terms, then you shouldn’t register for INBOUND 2021.
That’s that! Now, let’s get out there and have some fun!
